Belgium Roots Project |
BELGIUM-ROOTS was created in July 1995 for the purpose of
assisting the descendants of Belgian emigrants/immigrants living
abroad in tracing their Belgian roots and exploring their
Belgian heritage. Participation is free of any charge. There are
no direct or indirect obligations, financial or otherwise,
except for the total and unconditional respect for the
personalities and the opinions of all participants. |

Danish State Archives |
The Danish State Archives Filming Centre digitises parish
registers and population censuses in order to make them
accessible via the internet. The digitisation project is
primarily accomplished through scanning of microfiches and
microfilms. There is no fixed timetable for the launch of each
parish register and population census on the internet, as this
is a successive process. Instructions in English are provided on
how to use the online archives. |

Estonia 1918-1944 |
FamilySearch.org has put online an interesting collection of
various population registers from Estonia that span the years
from 1918 (after the Russian Revolution) to 1944 (near the end
of World War II). The collection consists of some 100,000
browsable images of various lists such as taxpayer lists, lists
of citizens, lists of Jews, lists of Germans and lists of
prisoners of war. The records are written in German, Estonian or
Russian. Depending on the list, the type of information that can
be found include name, date of birth, marital status,
occupation, address, military duties and (for tax lists) taxes
paid. These lists are currently not searchable but can be
browsed by city/town (see image below). Access is free. |

FEEHS |
The FEEHS 2012 conference/workshop will be designed to help you
do research on your ancestors come from Eastern Europe like the
Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, and Latvia. Participants will
have a chance to learn from a variety of experts with years of
experience in dealing with the records and the institutions that
preserve them. The workshop is held July 12-14 in the Salt Lake
Plaza Hotel at Temple Square, right beside the Family History
Library, Salt Lake City. |

"Find Your Roots in Belarus and Lithuania" includes all areas of
Nowogrodek, Polesie, Bialystok and Wilno provinces of
Rzeczpospolita Polska II and Vilna, Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk and
Mogilev areas' localities of the 5 Belarusian governorates of
the former Russian Empire.

Free BMD
|
FreeBMD is an ongoing project, the aim of which is to transcribe
the Civil Registration index of births, marriages and deaths for
England and Wales, and to provide free Internet access to the
transcribed records. It is a part of the FreeUKGEN family, which
also includes FreeCEN (Census data) and FreeREG (Parish
Registers).

Genealogical Society of Flemish Americans |
The GSFA helps people trace their Flemish and Belgian heritage;
publishes a newsletter and magazine of pictures, stories,
queries, and genealogy information; and has a large library of
genealogy and Belgian heritage material at the American House in
Roseville, Michigan, USA. |

Historic Czech Census Recods 1843-1921 |
FamilySearch.org has added to its collection of censuses from
the Czech Republic. Currently, the collection covers the region
of Northwestern Bohemia and consists of some 240,000 images
spanning censuses from 1843 to 1921. A typical Czech census
record (see example below) lists the house number, head of the
household, and the names of everyone in the household (including
servants) including their ages, occupations and religion. The
relationship to the head of the household is also listed. Some
Czech census records also list the date and place of birth of
the individuals in the household. These census records are
organized by region, town and census year. Access is free. |

Hungary Family Search.org |
FamilySearch.org has added about 915,000 records to its
collection of Hungary Reformed Church christening records. The
collection spans the years 1624 to 1895. With this latest
update, some 57% of the records in the collection have been
indexed. These records appear in Hungarian, Latin and German.

Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild |
If you are looking for resources for immigrant ships, this site
has a nice search engine and many ship lists to research. |

Italy: Catanzaro Civil Registration Records and Napoli Civil
Registration Records.
|
FamilySearch has added two major civil registration image
collections from Italy: Catanzaro Civil Registration Records and
Napoli Civil Registration Records. Both collections come from
the state archives covering the time period from 1809 to 1865
comprising over 3 million images. Visit FamilySearch.org and

Jewish Communities and Records - United Kingdom Database |
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain has integrated
their databases onto the JewishGen system to form one integrated
database with JewishGen. Access is free to birth, marriage,
burials, census, trader lists, etc.

JewishGen Communities Database |
The JewishGen Communities Database contains information about
6,000 Jewish communities in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle
East. This database contains each community's name in various
languages, and political jurisdictions during different time
periods. |

Rock of Gibraltar |
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain (JGGB) has
added a collection of genealogical records from the Rock of
Gibraltar. The records are being hosted by JewishGen. The first
batch of some 6,500 records covers births from 1808 to 1894,
marriages from 1810 to 1883 and deaths from 1829 to 1931. Many
more records are expected to be added over time as they are
transcribed. Gibraltar’s Jewish community is unique and is
composed primarily of Sephardi Jews of Spanish, Portuguese and
North African ancestry. Access is free. |
